At Harrogate, I have a song in my heart.
“Music has always been at the heart of my story. As I entered my 80’s and pondered my future, I thought I’d just take a look at what Harrogate had to offer. I took a tour and was so impressed with what I saw that I signed a contract just 10 days later.”
– Mary Kay Mason, Independent Living Resident
Here's what people are saying about Harrogate
Posted on Linda DuranteTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our family is very happy with the care of our mom at Harrogates Health Center. Everyone has been wonderful and very attentive to my mom. From the independent living side to her needing rehab. Everyone has gone above and beyond.Posted on Ruth NealTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. From my first visit to Harrogate every experience has been positive. Every staff member made me feel welcome . Special thanks to Paula and Emily for excellent help in realizing my lovely apartment. I've been here 5 days and it already feels like home.Posted on Karen QuartuccioTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My mother has recently begun living at Harrogate. She and I have had many conversations about the kindness and care everyone working there displays towards the residents of the community. Jodie was more than helpful in finding an apartment that suited my mom’s needs. She went above and beyond taking every call from us to answer all questions and help us plan for my mom’s move. Emily was a fabulous help in orchestrating her move and setting her up with all amenities necessary for making a big transition much simpler than we thought it would be. She introduced my mom to many other residents who quickly became people my mother considers friends. Dana & Stephanie have been instrumental in helping my mom acclimate to her new home and get established with the medical clinic at Harrogate. My mom is overjoyed with the kindness, compassion and support she receives from all the staff of Harrogate. The staff she encounters daily including but not limited to dining, maintenance, housekeeping & activities have made Harrogate a comfortable, welcoming place that my mom already considers home.Posted on Diana MonroeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The level of care at Harrogate is top notch in all areas. We, the family, and my mom, know this from our experience with other care facilities. We genuinely believe that staff who work in long term care facilities wherever they are HAVE to care because of the stressful environment and job demands. This caring and commitment to patients and families was evident in both places. However, at Harrogate, the staff/client ratio and daily interactions with the same people and the smooth way they run day to day, and weekend care, created a team work environment between admin, nursing, physical therapy, personal care aides, food choices, the salon opportunities, and social activities. Everyone knew and did their job, and communication between all was amazing. They also let us know that it was possible to think about transitioning mom back home, with a wheel chair and live-in help. We didn't think she was ready after her January hip replacement procedure, but with the effective and frequent physical therapy, our mom was able to learn how to get out of bed and stand after 9 months. She also was walking with a walker about 10 steps, very weak and shaky confidence, but she did it and they kept encouraging her. Since bringing her home, she is now walking more and more everyday and is sooo happy to rejoin her "home"life. We know things are one day at a time, but if we ever need LTC, we will pray there is an opening at Harrogate. It is "home away from home" when necessary. A true family of caregivers with patients joining in during their stays. Thank you, Harrogate, for being such a wonderful PEOPLE!Posted on Judith BrownTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Wonderful staff. Very accommodating. They really want you to feel comfortable.Posted on Melanie DeuerleinTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Truly cannot say enough good things about the staff at Harrogate. Each and every person we met treated us with the utmost respect and compassion. My mother arrived at Harrogate in a weakened condition after an extended hospital stay. Little by slowly, she got stronger. With the help of physical & occupational therapists, she learned how to use her walker more effectively. She loved choosing her meals from a menu each day and was consistently spotted playing Bingo & Pokeno. She enjoyed the staff so much that she even joined the optional group exercise classes and often said that everyone at Harrogate was so kind. I cannot say enough good things about the care she received. Each person that we interacted with from admissions, social work, nursing, aides & activities treated my mother (and us) with unending professionalism and compassion. I would go out of my way to recommend Harrogate to family and friends.Posted on Mary CurtisTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. When I first arrived at Harrogate, I was in pretty sad shape. I had just had a fall in front of my house while gathering my mail from the box @ the curb. BAM! I went down on the sidewalk, smashing my elbow and fracturing my pelvis! After a 3 hour surgery in the hospital, I was transferred to a rehab facility to recover. My friends advised me that the rehabilitation center with the Best reputation in Ocean County was Harrogate! I had never heard about it before but trusted my friends, one of which was a nurse with lots of experience. The staff at Harrogate made my stay as easy as it could be. The physical therapists were patient when I couldn't even lift my right foot, and occupational therapists helped me use my right hand and arm again. It was a slow and grueling process. Many nights I felt hopeless. But there was always someone who knew how to cheer me up. There were activities and staff to keep me going and always plenty of hot meals served. P.T. had many tricks and games to keep us all involved in the endless process of training our bodies to work again. Week by week I found myself getting stronger and able to do things that I swore I'd never do again. I can walk with assistance and do quite a bit with my right hand and arm. Now, just nine weeks later, I am going home to my house to use all the skills I have learned from from the wonderful people who are Harrogate. MANY THANKS to the therapists, nurses & the personal aides, kitchen staff, those who kept it all sparkling, the amazing entertainment crew, the hardworking laundry ladies, and the excellent administration.Posted on pat randTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This is a wonderful facility. The staff and residents are happy, kind, and helpful. It was a pleasure to find this gem of a facility. The atmosphere is positive and the amenities are fantastic. It is very comforting to know that my sister is in a safe place and cared for so very much. She is happy that she came here to Harogate and I am happy that she is enjoying life to its fullest. Thank you to the Staff at Harogate.Posted on Stuart SchlesingerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The staff at Harrogate is the best I have ever experienced anywhere! My mom was in hospice and the kindness, compassion, and love we received is top notch. The administrators, nurses, aides, housekeeping, all the way to the dining staff. They made my mom and our family feel love and comfort in the final stage of my moms life. I can't thank them enough!

Thanksgiving at Harrogate felt like one big family dinner. People were catching up, plates were being passed around, and kids were sneaking extra dessert. Residents, loved ones, and staff blended together in a way that made the whole day feel just right. Days like these truly make it hard to tell ...where the community ends and the family begins. 🍗👪💙🙏
We had a great Sip & Paint last week! The ladies bounced between conversation and concentration, taking their time with each brushstroke. Every snowman came out a little different, and that’s what made it such a good time. 🍷🎨⛄
We're feeling extra grateful for the amazing residents and dedicated staff who make Harrogate feel like home. We love our Harrogate family! 💛🥰🙏
Happy Thanksgiving from the Harrogate family! This year, we’re especially grateful for the wonderful residents, families, and team members who make Harrogate such a warm and welcoming community. From our Harrogate family to yours, we wish you a holiday filled with gratitude, comfort, and ...happiness. 🧡🍁🦃
One of our talented residents, Gene Salomon, gave a presentation called Reflections on Chess, Bridge, and Life. He shared stories from his younger years, the people who taught him the game, and how those moments shaped the way he sees the world today. What stayed with everyone was how simply and ...honestly he connected the games he loves to the life he’s lived.♟️🃏🗣️
Residents gathered in the auditorium for a Root Beer Float Social that had all the right ingredients. What started out as a simple treat ended with people dancing and singing along with floats in hand. Turns out root beer floats really are the secret to getting everyone moving.🍦🥤😄
We held our 10th Annual ROMEO Dinner, and the men walked in dressed to impress. They enjoyed a five-course dinner with lobster, steak, and plenty of cocktails to go with it. After the feast, they stepped outside with cigars, celebrating the night the way only this group knows how. Let’s just ...say… the next one can’t come soon enough. 👔🦞🥩
