Respite Care
Respite Care is short-term in-patient care for seniors who need 24/7 support. When a primary caregiver needs a break from their caregiving duties, or when the caregiver has a work obligation or family obligation that temporarily takes them away from their caregiving duties, Short-Term Respite Care is the caregiving service they need.
Harrogate welcomes any individual to our campus for a Short-Term Respite stay. When you place your loved one in our care, rest assured that our medical team will provide round-the-clock care, and our support staff will treat them like family. You have complete peace of mind knowing your loved one will be well taken care of while you are away. Respite Care is an invaluable service, offering you and your loved one time apart to recharge.
As caring for a loved one at home becomes more difficult, and you find your family member needs more medical attention or socialization than you are able to provide, you may want to consider scheduling a Respite Care stay. In this instance, a Respite Care stay acts as a “trial run” to see how your loved one would adjust to living as a Harrogate resident. A short stay of up to three weeks will give you the reassurance you need to see that your loved one will have all of their medical needs appropriately addressed, and that the socialization offered here will genuinely improve their quality of life. Many of our Skilled Nursing residents started out as Respite Care residents. Caregivers who help their loved one transition to becoming a resident of Harrogate find that the relationship with their family member becomes so much more fulfilling once the responsibilities of caregiving have been lifted from their shoulders.
Respite Care rooms are available in our Health Center for those with either Memory Care or Skilled Nursing needs. Respite Care stays can be made for 3-21 days, and reservations are required. It is recommended that the reservation be scheduled several weeks in advance of each stay. Of course, we do understand that sometimes a caregiver has an emergency, so we always try to accommodate last minute Respite Care requests when possible.
